Choose the right domain name for your blog

I was wondering on how much a domain name can influence the visibility of a blog. I crawled on the web and what i discovered was really heart braking, my domain "moneymakingcasestudy" is one of the BAD domain. It needs a change, if you don't find same assume its already changed. :)

Lets look into some issues:
The domain should be user friendly and search engine friendly, reason is simple search engine help people to reach your blog and people friendly because they are ultimate end users of the site.

Points to keep in mind are:
1. Spot the primary keywords that you blog about say for this blog we have money, making, online, case, study etc. the domain should be combination of this. Here the search engines like it very much and even user can easily connect to the domain, in a world where we have very less time to scan a website, the domain name is the first impression and only impression at times. [Don't over do it like ending up in moneymakingcasestudy domain.:) here i have to confess i was looking for free blogger domains and without much though ended in this domain following point 1 only]

2. The domain should be one that users can remember, means remember easily, though we may be able to remember the complex maths equation but for domains nobody is going to stress. Here it should also be easy to type not like my-domain-is-easy-to-remember or moneymakingcasestudy :(. Even if somebody like to revisit the site its troubling, and the result is nothing but the favour to some other site.

3. The superlative keywords like money, easy, online, make more money, get dollars easily, should be avoided if not consists the primary keywords, reason is that over the period of time these have lost credibility among users due and have came up as some fraudulent ones. Also lot of commerce, online business, advt. focused sites use these so even search engine has lot options in this range, and thus getting spotted with these keywords is difficult [but no t impossible.:) for this blog we have to be in the pool only and trying hard :)]

4. Generally our small and mid level blogs are not kind of branded and center of focus for an activity, so the CONTEXT of the blog should be reflected in the domain itself as a identity card.
This will help people and machines to connect to your blog in the context of your blog.

These points are related to but not limited to the choice of right domain name, make your perfect choice and take care of these points also, at least you should end up in domain like moneymakingcasestudy, where you have to request users to remember the domain or to add the domain to favt. list. [PS:Treat this is as official request for the same :)]

Stop Worrying Start Working- Help yourself

While scanning some of the popular blogs giving enormous tips, tricks, guidelines to make money online, what attracted my attention was the nature of queries raised by readers.

Most of the queries relate to how can i improve, i am not able to get benefits, can you suggest some tips to make more money and so on... Nothing wrong, rather very good to have the willingness to pick up best of both worlds but whats really in the mind of the readers.



Is it a sense of continuous improvement in the mind ? or Is it the sense of worry arising from not getting the expectations met?

Again, worrying is ok till the time its purpose is to trigger an action, ideally it should be short lived and should die as soon as we make a move. If it's the case then post a comment "not for me" and exit the topic.



Now, the cases when worry is either prolong or doesn't leads to action are dangerous and requires urgent attention. Solution? simple either kill the worry, forget the path and get off the board or take some worthy action. Well seems like the second option is good, we are yet to give our best and will go with that.



Here we are focusing on the worry arising from not meeting the expectation of making good money. Are we missing some action? Is our worry taking best part of our energy? Have we developed negative opinion, without trying much? Just look back and spot what worked and what didn't, that gives a hint to what can work and at least what doesn't work at all.



Now there is ample of information available, all we need is to process it wisely. We'll look into issues in other posts, here the main purpose is to get on the move.

For now one good tip is beside asking for something, have a look into how they are themselves implementing it, pick up some basic recipe suited to your context. Here its not like going for a blind run, following everything and ending up nowhere, but identifying the reasonable ideas that can work for you as well.
